KACD and local Conservation Districts are excited to partner with Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) to promote a cover crop incentive program for soil health improvement. This collaboration, known as the Kansas Climate Smart Initiative (KCSI), supports farmers and ranchers financially and technically in adopting regenerative agriculture practices.

Since 2022, the KCSI has provided financial and technical assistance, as well as educational resources to Kansas producers. In the first year, producers in 45 counties enrolled over 100,000 acres. By 2023, this expanded to 189,916 acres across 76 counties, contributing to over 2.8 million acres of regenerative practices nationwide. For 2024, the goal is to enroll 200,000 cover crop acres.
