Scammers are increasing their calls and pressure to take your hard-earned savings. One of the scams going across the country is the "Jury Duty" scam. Callers pose as local deputies and warn you that you missed jury duty. They claim that you have a warrant and that you need to make a payment to avoid arrest. The callers rely on fear and pressure to manipulate you into giving up your money. Legitimate law enforcement will NEVER demand payment to avoid arrest. Legitimate authorities will NEVER demand that you withdraw large sums of money and convert it into gift cards or Bitcoin.

If you receive one of these calls, please hang up and call your local law enforcement authorities. We are here to help you.

This article from Tennessee gives a good overview.

Williamson Co. deputies are warning about a jury duty scam where callers pose as law enforcement and demand payment. Officials say to hang up and verify the information directly with law enforcement.

As the winter storm continues in our area, the road conditions are at their worst. Avoid traveling if you do not have an emergency. The treacherous conditions may cause you to experience a collision, a stranded vehicle, or other serious issues. Remember to watch your children and pets for cold exposure if they are outdoors. Your Lyndon officers are ready and willing to respond to help you if the need arises. Please try and stay safe and warm during these trying conditions.
