On behalf of the Mayor's Office and City Council, congratulations to our June 2026 Property of Distinction homeowners!

During the summer months of June, July, and August, each of the Ward Council members choose one property in each of the 4 Wards of the City that exceeds every day standards of home and lawn maintenance. These homeowners are recognized for their pride of ownership and their commitment to keeping our community beautiful!

It was a special evening as Mayor Ward swore in the newest members of the Lyndhurst Police Department tonight during our meeting of City Council.

Please join us in welcoming Patrol Officers Nicholas Krotine and Robert Hovanes as they begin their careers serving and protecting our community!

We also celebrate the appointment of Michael Scipione as Chief of Police. Since joining the department in 2000, Chief Scipione has dedicated more than 25 years to serving Lyndhurst. We wish him continued success as he leads the department into its next chapter!

This transition follows the retirement of Chief Patrick Rhode on May 22, 2026 after 31 years of distinguished service. We thank Chief Rhode for his leadership and countless contributions to our community throughout his career and wish him a happy and well-deserved retirement.

Congratulations to all and thank you for your dedication and commitment to keeping Lyndhurst safe!
