Sometimes, a home repair means so much more than fixing what’s broken.
Recently, our team and volunteers helped a veteran homeowner in Chardon whose unsafe front steps made getting in and out of the home difficult for his young daughter, who has a disability.
Together, we replaced the steps with a new deck and accessible ramp — and seeing the joy on their faces as they tried it out for the first time was a reminder of why this work matters.
On September 12, we’re coming together for Stars & Strides 5K & 1-Mile Walk supporting local veterans.
Every step helps support Habitat Home #101 for a veteran family and critical home repairs like this one for veteran homeowners and their families throughout Lake and Geauga counties.
