We’re thrilled to announce that the Bergen County Bocce Tournament is back! Join us for the 16th Annual Tournament on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. at Riverside County Park in Lyndhurst. In the event of inclement weather, October 4th will be the rain date.

The County of Bergen and the Tournament Committee will be communicating exclusively with the Team Captains listed on the registration forms for all event updates and information.

Please return a completed application and the $10.00 per person registration fee via check payable to “County of Bergen”, no later than Friday, September 4, 2026, to the following mailing/email address:

The 250th Military Birthday Blankets may now be purchased by cash, check and also by credit card at the American Legion Post 139, 217 Webster Avenue between the hours of 3PM to 8PM. We feature US Army, US Navy, US Marine, and Non-Military (Royal Blue) 250th Birthday Blankets.

Blankets cost $100 each (please add $10. 00 processing fee to orders placed by check). These Blankets are made in Lyndhurst and can be viewed at Mayor Giangeruso's office at 367 Valley Brook Avenue, and also at the corridor of the American Legion, 217 Webster Avenue where order forms can also be obtained.

With the holiday season fast approaching, these beautiful blankets make excellent commemorative gifts honoring our military and perfect to use for the upcoming winter months!

The Lyndhurst Veterans Alliance, in cooperation with the Township of Lyndhurst, is planning to resume our "Banners for Heroes" campaign in the fall of 2026.

We are currently meeting with the Lyndhurst Department of Public Works (DPW), which has done an excellent job under the direction of Commissioner Jarvis, in ensuring that our banners are properly mounted and safely stored during the winter months.

We are also in contact with the newly relocated Riverside Graphics Co. and are working to negotiate the best possible pricing for our new banners, as the costs of flags and metal bracket fasteners have increased. Please note. As space is very limited, the location of new banners is solely at the discretion of the Lyndhurst Department of Public Works. Residents will not be permitted to request a specific location for a banner.

Please also be advised that neither the Lyndhurst Veterans Alliance nor the Township of Lyndhurst, including the Department of Public Works, can be held responsible for any current or future damage to, loss of, or displacement of banners due to weather conditions, traffic, or other unforeseen circumstances. In the event that a banner becomes dislodged and is found on a sidewalk or street, we would greatly appreciate the assistance of our residents in retrieving and returning it to either of the following locations:

American Legion Post
217 Webster Avenue

If your loved one's Veteran's banner is missing from its pole, please notify the Lyndhurst Department of Public Works at 201-804-2457, ext. 2906.

Information regarding the pricing, dates and locations and for obtaining new "Banners for Heroes" applications will soon be posted on the Lyndhurst Township website and social media pages. We greatly appreciate the continued support and cooperation of our residents as we work together to honor the service and sacrifice of our Veterans.

The Mayor and Board of Commissioners would like to invite all residents to join us for our annual September 11th Memorial Ceremony.

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. It is a day for us to come together to remember those who lost their lives, honor the bravery of our first responders, and reflect on the unity and strength of our nation.

As a community, we also remember our Lyndhurst residents who lost their lives on September 11th Gino Calvi, Kenneth Grouzalis, Myoung Lee, and Craig Lilore. We continue to keep their families in our thoughts and prayers.

Year after year, the Township of Lyndhurst has proudly held a memorial service at our 9/11 Memorial Monument in Town Hall Park. It is a tradition that reminds us that we must never forget.

In honor of the 25th Anniversary, this year's ceremony will include the release of butterflies and doves as symbols of peace, hope, and remembrance.

AQUACISE CLASSES AT THE LYNDHURST COMMUNITY POOL

The next session will run for 9 weeks on Wednesdays and Fridays starting September 2nd. The cost for the program is $90 for Lyndhurst Residents; $108 for Non-Residents.

Those who register for Aquacise will also have access to Open Swim at the pool on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during daytime hours.

Register at the Parks Department, 250 Cleveland Avenue.
