Updates to the Friends Bookstore at the Lynden Library

The Friends of the Lynden Library thought it would be an ideal time to refresh the bookstore when the library installed new carpet . It was a big job ! All the books and magazines were temporarily taken out of the store and moved to another spot in the library; the bookcases, shelving units and our Secondhand Prose sign were removed; and a new paint color was added to the back wall. After the shelves and books were returned a beautiful new sign was added with our updated logo.

We also took this opportunity to rearrange some shelves and expand shelf space for popular genres. And we decided to use the top shelves in the store as a way to showcase our nicest books.

What moved, what didn't
Most genres are in or near their previous locations, but there are a few exceptions.

Moving out of the Alcove: Politics has moved into the Non-fiction bookcase next to the entrance to the Alcove, and Large Type has moved out near Fiction and Mystery.

Moving into the Alcove: Travel has moved into the Alcove, along with Pets and Nature.
