THIS WEEKEND! We have two events that some amazing partners have organized to benefit Habitat and we couldn't be more grateful!

First up is an Indoor Yard Sale at from 7-1 tomorrow morning. This sale is pay what you can and all proceeds will go to Habitat to build more homes in our community!

Once you're all shopped out and need to refuel, head to The Bagel and I at 2pm for a Slice of Hope! You'll come away with a to-go box of cake slices to enjoy and you can enter a raffle for one of SugarBlush Bakery's incredible creations!

A beautiful ending for Bedford Beginnings…and the start of something amazing for Melissa and her son 🏡

On Saturday, we came together to celebrate the completion of this home and all of the hands and hearts who came together to make it all possible! An enormous thank you to the Radford Bequest and Bethany Methodist Church for sponsoring this home. We also could not have completed this home without John S. Vincent Custom Building, as well as the Habitat Road Trip Crazies who kicked off this project with a Blitz Build last June.

And the good vibes don’t stop here! We have another Bedford homeowner selected and can’t wait to keep on building in the Town of Bedford 🎉

Habitat for Humanity lost an incredible friend on March 18th. Rick Edwards was a champion of service in our community and a longtime volunteer and advocate for Habitat.

Rick was introduced to Habitat in 1987, where he built alongside Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter on a Blitz Build in Charlotte, NC. He described that experience as being bitten by the Habitat "bug" and was a dedicated volunteer in the decades that followed. He served as the President of GLHFH's board of directors for 6 years and was also a member of our construction crew. Rick's leadership, service, and friendship made an indelible mark on our organization and the community. He will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by everyone here at Habitat.

To continue his legacy, Rick established the "Rick Edwards' Educate Habitat Kids" scholarship fund. After helping to build affordable, decent housing with Habitat for 35 years, Rick's desire was to make scholarships available to children of Habitat homeowners to attend Central Virginia Community College. His family has requested that in lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to this fund and carry on Rick's passion for Habitat by making a lasting difference in the life of a child.

Didn’t expect to see our friends from the Lynchburg Fire Department today, but we’re happy to report all is well!

After we smelled something burning in our admin office without finding the source, we decided to bring in the professionals to investigate. We were relieved to find it was just a broken belt inside an air unit.

Mystery solved! And we are so grateful to LynchburgFireDepartment for their amazing response and the peace of mind they gave us knowing our building is safe and sound.
