The Miller Park Pool Construction Contract has been awarded to Jamerson Lewis Construction Company just a few blocks away from Miller Park.

The City of Lynchburg has awarded the construction contract for the new Miller Park Pool to Jamerson-Lewis Construction, keeping on schedule the City’s effort to deliver a new, improved community pool for the 2027 summer season.

Construction is expected to begin in September, with a targeted completion of June 2027. Highlights include:

• 25- and 50-meter lap swim lanes for fitness and recreation
• Multiple water slides
• A dedicated children’s play area with interactive water features
• A sloped-entry designed for improved accessibility
• Shaded seating and gathering areas for families

🌲 Today would have been Rev. Bev Cosby’s 100th birthday. 🌲

Bev Cosby was one of the founders of Camp Kum-Ba-Yah and a lifelong advocate for inclusion, dignity, and what he called the “specialness of difference.” His commitment to breaking down barriers and building community helped shape Camp Kum-Ba-Yah from its earliest days and continues to influence the values we live out today.

To honor Bev’s life and legacy, we invite you to read a brief biography written by John Randolph “Randy” Nelson, a lifelong friend of Bev, the Cosby family, and Camp Kum-Ba-Yah.
