Lynchburg Lifesaving Crew The Lynchburg Lifesaving Crew is a 100% volunteer organization providing the highest quality first a in downtown Lynchburg.

"Greater love hath no man than this: that he lay down his life for his brother." - The Lynchburg Life Saving and First Aid Crew, Inc., motto, 1934. The Lynchburg Lifesaving Crew was founded in 1934 after a series of tragic events struck the community. Since then, we have been Lynchburg's only 100% volunteer Emergency Medical Service. We were the third-oldest rescue squad in America, and are proud to continue the tradition of excellence to this day. We operated 2 medic units, 1 utility truck, 1 command unit, and a Disaster Response Unit from our station on Memorial Ave. We operated in full integration working together with Lynchburg Fire Department, although we are separate agencies. We rely 100% on donations from concerned community members, because we do not have any outside sources of funding.
