LRHA is a government agency that strives to change the lives of current and potential citizens of Lynchburg, Va. We focus on ending homelessness and providing homes to those who otherwise would not be able to afford housing for themselves or their families. Our Agency is committed to improving the city of Lynchburg one house at a time and ultimately changing the way people see Lynchburg. LRHA and the City of Lynchburg are inviting interested residents and community stakeholders to participate in an upcoming virtual Section 106 consultation meeting regarding Phase I of the redevelopment of Dearington Apartments into Blackwater Hills Apartments.

The meeting is an opportunity to learn how the proposed redevelopment may affect historic properties in the Dearington community and to participate in the consultation process.

Couldn’t make it to last week’s Backpack & School Supply Giveaway? 🎒📚

We had a great turnout and loved seeing so many LRHA families stop by to prepare for the new school year. The good news is, we still have backpacks and school supplies available!

Supplies can be picked up through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the LRHA main office, while supplies last.

Backpacks and school supplies are available to all LRHA public housing residents and voucher clients.

Join us on Thursday, August 13, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Birchwood Community Basketball Court to pick up backpacks and school supplies before the new school year begins.

All LRHA public housing tenants are invited to attend.
