Did you know...?

The Yorkshire section of Lynbrook was designed to mirror many of the stately brick homes found in London.

At the time of development in 1930, the area was one of the last remaining large farm sites in Lynbrook.

Today, Yorkshire retains the architectural style of Old England dominated by Tudor-style homes and the recently build Cornerstone Yorkshire.

Yorkshire is also the location of local businesses including the Lynbrook Starbucks, The Bristal Lynbrook, Atria Park of Lynbrook, and Northwell Health Physicians Partners.

As we kick off this school year, it's crucial to emphasize the importance of safety, particularly in and around our school zones. The safety of our students, staff, and all members of our school community is our top priority. To ensure everyone's well-being, we kindly request your cooperation in adhering to the following safety guidelines:

Allow Extra Time: We understand that mornings can be rushed, but we urge all parents, guardians, and commuters to allow extra time when traveling during school hours. Rushing can lead to unsafe driving behaviors.

Reduce Speed in School Zones: Please remember to slow down when approaching school zones. Adhering to the posted speed limits is essential for the safety of our children, who are often walking or biking to school.

Park Legally: When dropping off or picking up your child, it is crucial to park legally and in designated areas. Illegally parked vehicles can create hazards for students and other commuters.

Follow Traffic Rules: Respect all traffic rules and signs around our schools. This includes obeying stop signs, crosswalks, and traffic signals.

We want to emphasize that our children depend on all of us to arrive safely at school every day. By adhering to these safety measures, we can create a secure and welcoming environment for everyone in our community. It is also important to note that the Lynbrook Police Department will be actively patrolling school zones to ensure the safety of all students and commuters.

School’s Back in Session – Safety First!

As our community schools reopen, we want to remind everyone, especially our young pedestrians and bicyclists, to stay alert and safe when traveling to and from school.

Pedestrians
• Cross at marked crosswalks and never against a red light.
• Always look before crossing and follow the direction of school crossing guards.
• Use sidewalks or designated paths—never walk along the roadway.

Bicyclists
• Helmets are required for riders ages 14 and younger, but strongly recommended for all.
• Ride on the right side with the flow of traffic.
• Always secure your bicycle with a lock when it’s not in use.

Let’s work together to make sure all students arrive at school and back home safely!
