Do you know what a home study is? It's an important part of the adoption process, a critical step to ensure families have the appropriate resources and preparation to adopt children. While sometimes it can feel like a frustrating hoop to jump through, it is actually an incredibly important safeguard for vulnerable children. And when adoptive families approach it from the right mindset, it can also be an important learning opportunity. In any scenario, the home study is often the first critically important step in an adoption journey. Because of that, it is important to work closely with experienced providers for your home study. Maggie was adopted as an infant, and wanted to give back to the adoption community for her senior project. Adoption Life is thrilled with the signing of HB51 into law in Utah. This law goes a long way in protecting Birth Parents from predatory practices and makes agencies more accountable for the ways we conduct ourselves in adoption. Better laws protect all parties in an adoption and create a strong foundation for ethical and healthy adoptions. We are appreciative of Representative Katy Hall's incredible work on this legislation, and her efforts to gather valuable input from those impacted by adoption.
