Can you please post on the Lyman Happenings page? The Skinner's cat named Elsie has been missing for a few days from West Main down past the school. She is five years old and her back left leg is bad. Have them contact Town Hall if found and I will let Skinner's know.

Painted Tin Can Lanterns

Materials

Empty tin cans

Acrylic paint in assorted colors

Hammer

Nail

Foam brushes

Jute twine

Decorative acrylic gems

Pencil

Tea lights or LED candles

Instructions

Step 1

Clean and dry the tin cans thoroughly.

Step 2

Draw simple decorative patterns on the cans with a pencil.

Step 3

Use a hammer and nail to punch holes along the patterns.

Step 4

Paint each can with bright acrylic colors and allow them to dry completely.

Step 5

Glue decorative gems around the punched designs for extra sparkle.

Step 6

Make two holes near the top of each can and attach a jute twine handle.

Step 7

Place a tea light or LED candle inside and hang the lantern outdoors.

Tips

Use LED candles for added safety.

Let the paint dry fully before adding decorations.
