The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today issued warning letters to five electronic cigarette distributors for various violations of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA) including unsubstantiated claims and poor manufacturing practices.

Just fyi, this article from the Chicago Tribune is yet another recent
example of how
strong smokefree laws can help prompt quit attempts per CDC Best
Practices (and also for the need to have comprehensive program that
includes cessation assistance, etc). Although smoking cessation is not
the primary goal of smokefree laws (primary goal
protecting people from SHS), it continues to be an important side
effect.
