SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT

The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a Special Weather Statement for west-central Crenshaw County and southeastern Butler County until 6:15 p.m.

At 5:33 p.m., a strong thunderstorm was located approximately 9 miles west of Rutledge, moving southwest at 15 mph.

Wind gusts of up to 50 mph are possible. These winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured outdoor objects.

If you are outdoors, please seek shelter inside a sturdy building and use caution if traveling through the affected area.

It’s time! Orders for the Luverne Rescue Camp Stew Fundraiser open TODAY, August 31, at 9:00 a.m.!

Camp Stew is $12 per quart, with pickup scheduled for November 21.

Online payments are securely processed through PayPal, but you do NOT need a PayPal account to order. You may check out using a debit or credit card. Luverne Rescue does not collect or store your debit or credit card information.

💵 CASH OR CHECK ORDERS

If you prefer to pay by cash or check, orders may be placed in person at the Luverne Rescue station Monday–Friday from 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Please remember that Luverne Rescue is an emergency medical service. There may be times during those hours when our crews are responding to emergency calls and no one is available at the station. We appreciate your patience and understanding if you need to return at another time.

📋 IMPORTANT ORDERING INFORMATION

For this Camp Stew sale, orders will ONLY be accepted through our online order form or in person at the Luverne Rescue station.

We will not be able to accept orders through Facebook comments, Messenger, shared posts, text messages, by contacting individual members of Luverne Rescue, or through any other unofficial ordering method.

This helps us keep every order organized and ensures no one’s order is accidentally missed.

Orders are confirmed only after payment has been received. We are unable to reserve or hold orders without payment.

Every order is personally reviewed, confirmed, and assigned an order number. A member of Luverne Rescue will contact you with your order number and any additional information you may need.

I am looking for people who have benefited from the work the EMA does - this could be direct benefits (storm shelter tax credit, weather radio help, etc) or indirect (something you saw on the EMA social media helped prepare you for disaster, etc).

**ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE**

Unfortunately, the work on Bodiford Pool Road was not completed today. The closed section between Montgomery Highway (Highway 331) and Farrior Road will remain closed throughout tonight and Tuesday, September 1.

Please continue to use an alternate route and allow additional travel time. We will provide another update once the roadway has reopened.

The Crenshaw County Highway Department will close a small portion of Bodiford Pool Road between Montgomery Highway (Highway 331) and Farrior Road on Monday, August 31, 2026.

The road is expected to remain closed throughout the day. Please plan to use an alternate route and allow extra travel time.
