After deploying 1200 feet of hose on yesterday’s second alarm fire, this picture shows how our water supply was compromised. Many thanks Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company for sharing this important message. Baltimore County Volunteer Firefighters Association Baltimore County Fire Department
An important safety message from your friends at Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company.
Please do not drive over fire hose in the street. It jeopardizes the safety of the firefighters at the other end of the hose line. They can be severely injured or even killed if their water supply is cut off.
In addition to damaging the hose, your vehicle could be damaged. You can also be issued one or more citations by the police, as running over fire hose is against Maryland law. A section of hose similar to the one pictured costs about $1,000.
In addition to keeping our firefighters safe, you can support them by getting your tickets for tonight's Maryland Firefighters 50-50 Raffle. Tonight's pot is $30,000 and still growing! Click on http://tinyurl.com/pvfc5050 now to get your chance before the 8 PM drawing!
