🚒 Preparations Underway for Tonight’s Town Board Meeting 🚒

Numerous members of the Luther Fire Department have been working throughout the day in challenging heat conditions to prepare for tonight’s Town Board meeting and help ensure a safe environment for everyone attending.

As part of those preparations, Main Street between 1st Street and 2nd Street has been closed to allow for event setup and public safety operations. Through collaboration, mutual aid, and resource-sharing efforts, two portable light towers have been brought in and positioned to provide adequate lighting for tonight’s meeting. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Lincoln County Emergency Management and Oklahoma County Emergency Management for their assistance, support, and continued partnership in helping provide the resources necessary to make this event a success.

In addition, an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance from SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital - Midwest EMS will be dedicated to the event and standing by should any medical emergencies arise.

To help ensure public safety, law enforcement personnel from multiple agencies will also be present throughout the event. Deputies from the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, along with officers from the Luther Police Department and Harrah Police Department, will be on site to assist with traffic control, crowd management, and public safety operations.

This evening’s meeting would not be possible without the coordinated efforts of numerous agencies and volunteers working behind the scenes. Firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency management personnel, Luther Public Works staff, town officials, emergency medical personnel, and many others have been working diligently throughout the day to ensure tonight’s meeting can be conducted safely and efficiently for all citizens in attendance.

Great information from Del City Police Department

If you want to play with a train, buy a toy train set. The real thing weighs thousands of tons and cannot swerve, stop quickly, or change direction to avoid a crash. Remember: Stop. Trains Can’t.
