Great information from Del City Police Department

If you want to play with a train, buy a toy train set. The real thing weighs thousands of tons and cannot swerve, stop quickly, or change direction to avoid a crash. Remember: Stop. Trains Can’t.

During any medical emergency in our fire district, when you call 911, both the Luther Fire Department and our EMS partners at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital - Midwest EMS respond to provide emergency medical care and patient transport. Their crews work alongside our firefighters to ensure patients receive timely treatment and transportation to the emergency room of their choice or to a regional specialty care center when needed.

We are proud to partner with the dedicated paramedics and EMTs of SSM Midwest EMS who serve our community every day with professionalism, compassion, and commitment.

Please join us in thanking them and wishing them a very Happy EMS Week 2026.

Today we recognize and celebrate two of our own this Mother’s Day.

Happy Mother’s Day to Captain Fawn Tibbits and Probationary Firefighter Amanda Schein. Both women represent what service, dedication, and strength truly look like. Whether at home with their families or serving the community, they continue to set an incredible example both in and out of uniform.

Thank you both for the sacrifices you make, the compassion you show, and the commitment you bring to the fire service every day. The Luther Fire Department is proud to serve alongside each of you.
