Lumberton Fire & EMS had the privilege of visiting with our local American Heritage Girls Troop Rangers this week. Thank you for the opportunity to meet these sweet girls. We enjoyed our visit.

Today, Hardin County ESD #2 / Lumberton Fire & EMS joins our nation in remembering September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives that were lost, the families forever changed, and the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS professionals, military personnel, and ordinary citizens who answered the call to help others.

Tropical Storm Edouard Response

During the 24-hour period from 6:00 a.m. on September 1 through 6:00 a.m. on September 2, 2026, Hardin County ESD #2 / Lumberton Fire & EMS responded to 39 calls for service associated with Tropical Storm Edouard.

Those incidents included:
• 18 reports of downed or arcing power lines
• 11 medical emergencies
• 5 other calls for service
• 2 rescue incidents
• 2 fire alarms
• 1 motor vehicle collision

The District supported these response efforts with three fire engines, one tanker, two ambulances, and four support vehicles.

Most importantly, 28 dedicated members answered the call and worked to protect our community throughout the storm. These responses would not have been possible without their commitment, teamwork, and willingness to serve under challenging conditions.

Our responding members are truly the heart and soul of our organization. We sincerely thank each of them for their dedication to Hardin County ESD #2 and the Lumberton community

🌪️ DID YOU RECEIVE DAMAGE FROM TROPICAL STORM EDOUARD?

Hardin County residents who experienced storm-related damage from Edouard are encouraged to report that damage through the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT).

Submitting your damage information helps Hardin County and the State of Texas identify and understand the extent of impacts within our community and supports the overall damage assessment process.

🏠 When submitting your report:

Submit ONE survey for EACH impacted address.
Report damage to homes, businesses, or other affected property as applicable.
Photos of the damage can be included and are extremely helpful.
Please report damage even if you have insurance.

Providing standby coverage at community events is another way our team works to keep the community safe.
