It’s official y’all! Caldwell County ESD No. 5 is up and running. We are likely going to phase out this page, so make sure you like and follow the ESD 5 page for updates. As promised in December, our service won’t change, just a new name on the truck! We look forward to growing and continuing to serve our wonderful community.

It’s official yall! CCESD5 is here to serve Caldwell County!!

Our Chief Medical Officer is here for the kickoff running calls and keeping Caldwell County safe!

We thank you all for your support and efforts to get CCESD 5 up and running. It was (and still is) a monumental lift and Caldwell County should be proud of all the great things happening.

Help us in congratulating our very own Paramedic Sam Vargas as he enters into retirement (again), maybe for real this time! Sam has served Luling EMS for the last 8 years and has an incredible 42 years experience in fire/EMS. Sam has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to our service and we wish him the best in this next chapter! We will miss you brother! Will be uploading a video of his final call shortly.

Today we honor the brave men and women of the armed forces that have served this wonderful country, including our very own EMS Director Richard Slaughter. Director Slaughter served as Sergeant in the United States Army from 1975-1979 and 1979-1981 in the reserves. Richard specialized mechanized infantry. Now Richard continues to serve, leading a team of skilled EMT’s and paramedics in his own community. Help me in thanking Richard for his service.

We had an incredible Halloween event at our station. Thank you to the Luling Police Dept, Luling Volunteer Fire Department, Caldwell County Sheriff's Office - TX, Mid-County Fire/Rescue - ESD #4, and PHI Air Medical Cedar Creek for coming out and mingling with our wonderful community. Also thank you to the on-duty crew (minions - Paramedics Ellie and Wendy) and their Captain (Gru aka Captain Grant… because he was bald…) And of course to our Director R. Slaughter for the support in this event. Looking forward to next year! If you guys got some pictures of our event and would like to share them, we would love to see them! Please enjoy our photo dump!
