Locally, you’ll see Ludlow firefighters at the Chapin Street and Center Street intersections from 1–6 PM, collecting donations to help fund research, specialized care, advocacy, and support for people living with ALS, muscular dystrophy, and more than 300 neuromuscular diseases.

💙💛 Thank you to everyone who stops by, donates, and continues to support.

The Ludlow Police Department extends our deepest condolences to Sheriff Cocchi’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Our hearts are heavy as we share the passing of Walter “Butch” Cocchi, beloved father of Sheriff Nick Cocchi.

Mr. Cocchi was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose quiet strength, hard work and love of family helped shape the man and leader so many of us know and respect today.

On behalf of Special Sheriff Chris Gelonese and the entire Hampden County Sheriff’s Office family, we surround Sheriff Cocchi, his mother, his brothers and the entire Cocchi family with our love, support and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest in peace, Mr. Cocchi. Your legacy lives on through the family you loved so deeply. Details regarding services will be shared when available.

🎒🏫 Back to School Safety Reminder

As students return to school, the Ludlow Police Department reminds everyone in our community to make safety a priority.

With increased pedestrian and vehicle traffic around our schools, staying alert and following the rules of the road is essential.

🚶 For Students Walking to School:

* Use sidewalks whenever available.
* Cross streets only at marked crosswalks and follow the directions of crossing guards.
* Stay alert and avoid distractions, including cell phones and headphones.

🚲 For Students Biking to School:

* Always wear a properly fitted helmet and appropriate safety gear.
* Ride in the same direction as traffic and stay to the right side of the roadway.
* Obey all traffic signs and signals, and use proper hand signals when turning.

🚗 For Drivers:

* Slow down and remain alert, especially in school zones and residential areas.
* Stop and yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.
* Never pass a vehicle that has stopped for pedestrians.
* Remember: It is illegal to pass a school bus when its red lights are flashing and its stop sign is extended.
* Be patient and watch carefully for children who may enter the roadway unexpectedly.

Your cooperation helps keep our students, families, crossing guards, and entire community safe.

Let’s work together to make this school year a safe and successful one! 💙

FESTA 2026 MAP (6 Days til Festa!!!)

Every year the biggest question we get is :

Where can I park?

Since Festa takes place on the church ground including their parking lot, we have no parking lots of our own to offer for parking with the exception of one strip of a couple of dozen spaces reserved for people with a disabled placard as indicated on the map. However, these do fill up fast

There are many streets around the neighborhood that allow you to park with a short walk to the Festa grounds. Please be aware of and heed any no parking signs posted by the Ludlow police department.

There are some local organizations who do offer paid parking at their establishment to help benefit their fundraisers

On Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can find parking at

1. Ludlow High school
500 Chapin St Ludlow, MA. Park and then head to tent on Sgt Desforges Way hosted by the Celebrate Ludlow committee and the Ludlow Youth Hockey Association where they will assist you in boarding a shuttle to festa at $2/person roundtrip

2. Polish American Citizens Club (10 minute walk)
355 East St Ludlow, MA proceeds help benefit their scholarship funds $4 Thursday/Friday $10 Sat/Sun per vehicle

3. Ludlow Senior Center (5 minute walk to Gate 2)
228 State St Ludlow, MA proceeds benefit Senior Center programs $10 Thursday- Sunday per vehicle
