Public power and the Commonwealth's only joint action agency are in the spotlight this week in our nation's capital. While in Washington DC for this week's American Public Power Association (APPA) Legislative Rally, MMWEC CEO Tom Barry has the privilege of being the invited guest of Congressman Richard Neal, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee, at Tuesday's State of the Union Address. Tom is honored to represent the many Massachusetts public power constituents, customers, and stakeholders in this time of heightened awareness about energy affordability. Congressman Neal is a longstanding supporter of public power in the state (pictured here with Tom, far right, and the MMWEC team in DC in October 2025).
