Ludlow Commission on Disability invites you to Come Meet Your Neighbor! October is Disability Awareness Month, and we will be highlighting community members. “Disability doesn’t define a person- it reveals their strength, resilience, and the unique brilliance they bring to the world. Every story deserves to be seen, heard, and honored. In Ludlow we celebrate differences not as a challenge to overcome, but as a powerful force that enriches the community.” -Tamara Huntley, Board Member and disability advocate
Our first featured community member is Jaelyn!
Jaelyn is an 18 year old Autistic young adult who lives at home with her mom, Tanya, and younger sister. She goes to The Center School in Holyoke where she learns daily life skills, takes weekly trips, and works one day a week at the Salvation Army with support. Jaelyn loves puzzles, reading, and doing laundry- though not so much folding! Her mother describes her as a foodie and her favorite food is chicken nuggets. Jaelyn is a typical teen who likes to be alone in her room. She likes attending Game Night in the Autism community and going to the park with her family.
