This is the Official page of the Pere Marquette Fire Department, we are located in Mason County Michigan. Our Station # is 29 and we work with the City of Ludington and Hamlin Township Fire Department. The cooperation of the three agencies forms the Western Mason County Fire Authority. The purpose of this is for better trained personnel, acquire much needed grants, latest in equipment and

apparatus. Our Station is located at 1040 South Pere Marquette Highway, we respond at a moments notice. We will be there when called upon! We provide Fire, Rescue and Medical Responders for any emergency we get summoned to. Semper Paratus ( Always Ready)

For many of us, the material served as a refresher of skills that may not be frequently used. It is essential that our skills remain sharp across all areas of services we provide, ensuring preparedness for any situation.

🚒 Incident Response – June 21, 2026 🚒
At approximately 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2026, the Hamlin Township Fire Department responded to a reported stove fire in the Victory Township.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that the fire had largely extinguished itself prior to our arrival. Crews worked to ensure the fire was completely out, assisted with cleanup, and ventilated the residence to remove smoke and improve air quality.

While on scene, a resident of the household experienced a medical emergency. Firefighters immediately provided assistance and requested LIFE EMS to respond for patient care and evaluation.

We would like to thank the Pere Marquette Fire Department for their assistance on this incident, as well as the dispatchers at Mason-Oceana 911 for their support and coordination throughout the response.

Tonight at our monthly business meeting, we promoted two probationary firefighters.

Roger and Nick had to "earn" their new shields, which solidify them as certified interior firefighters.

After taking the over 280-hour academy this past fall, all their hard work has paid off! Their careers are just now beginning, and they both have a bright future.

"Never stop learning."
