These outstanding student-athletes were recognized by the LASD Board of Education last night for their incredible accomplishments of achieving All-State honors! Freshman Eliza "Speedy" Schwass was all-state in track, winning state championships in the 800m and 1600m events and earning 2nd place in the 3200m run. Senior Walt Autrey also earned all-state in track and field, earning 5th place in the shot put. Walt is headed to Hillsdale College to play football in the fall. From the winter season, Sophomore diver Sawyer Bishop earned all-state in diving, earning 5th place in the state meet which is also tied for the best ranking is LHS history with current dive coach Randy Fisher. Not pictured is foreign exchange student Cami Brahm who also earned all-state in the high jump. She's currently back home in Belgium but will be returning to compete in track and field at Muskegon Community College in the fall. All of these student-athletes exemplify what it means to be an Oriole!
