We would like to say thank you to the Richland County 911 Dispatchers for their work on Friday during the high winds and the large number of calls that came in. None of your hard work goes unnoticed.
Thank you to the line crews and linemen who have been working continuously to restore power throughout the area. Your long hours and dedication to getting power restored to the area are greatly appreciated.
Thank you as well to the road department crews who worked to clear roadways. Your efforts helped make travel safer for both emergency responders and the community.
With the possibility of more high winds this evening, please continue to stay aware of changing conditions and use caution if traveling. Also, reminder to charge your flashlights and portable devices

Many in our community are currently without power due to the recent high winds from yesterday. To help those in need, the fire department will be opening its doors today at 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM for anyone who needs a place to warm up and charge devices.

Most downed power lines and blocked roadways have been cleared, but please continue to use caution while traveling.

03/13/2026

Due to high winds, crews are currently responding to multiple calls for downed trees and power lines throughout the area.

Please do NOT approach or drive near downed power lines.
Even if a line appears inactive, it should always be treated as live and extremely dangerous.
If you encounter:
• Downed power lines
• Trees blocking roadways
• Storm debris
Please avoid the area and use caution while traveling.

911 is currently extremely busy. Please only call 911 for true emergencies.
If you do not need to be out, please stay home until conditions improve so emergency crews can respond to priority calls.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation while crews work to keep the community safe.
