💧🏆 The City of Lucas Water System has been officially recognized by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) as a Superior Public Water System!

This prestigious designation is the highest operational rating awarded by the State of Texas and is achieved by only about 10% of public water utilities statewide.

To earn and maintain a Superior rating, a water system must consistently exceed state and federal standards for water quality, safety, operations, staffing, and infrastructure. Requirements include maintaining an exceptional compliance record, meeting rigorous water quality standards, employing highly qualified licensed operators, and ensuring adequate production, treatment, pumping, and storage capacity.

This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and professionalism of our Public Works team, who work every day to provide safe, reliable, and high-quality drinking water to our community.

Please join us in congratulating our Public Works staff on this outstanding achievement and thanking them for their commitment to serving the residents of Lucas!

🚧 Road Construction Notice 🚧

Starting Thursday, June 4, crews will begin road construction on White Rock Trail as concrete panels are replaced.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the area and allow extra time for possible delays.

Please follow all posted traffic control signs and watch for crews and equipment in the work zone.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as this work is completed.

🚧 Road Construction Notice 🚧

Beginning Wednesday, June 3, through Friday, June 5, crews will be performing a culvert replacement on Forest Grove Road.

Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route, if possible, to avoid delays and congestion in the area during construction.

Please use caution when traveling near the work zone and follow all posted traffic control signs.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these improvements.

🚧 UPDATE: Water Service Interruption Rescheduled 🚧

The planned water service interruption for residents on Orange Cove, Citrus Way, Lemon Cove, Lime Cove, and Mandarin Cove has been rescheduled.

The temporary water outage will now take place on Wednesday, June 3, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM due to fire hydrant repairs in the area.

Please plan accordingly and take any necessary steps to prepare for the temporary interruption to service.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important maintenance work to help ensure the reliability of our water system.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE – CEDAR BEND TRAIL 🚧

Beginning Tuesday, June 2, a section of Cedar Bend Trail at E. Lucas Road will be closed for emergency repairs. The closure is expected to remain in place for an undetermined amount of time while crews complete the necessary work.

Traffic Information:
• Residents on Cedar Bend Trail and all thru traffic should use Edgefield Lane as the alternate entrance and exit route.
• Please follow all posted signage and use caution when traveling through the area.

Upcoming Work:
Once repairs on Cedar Bend Trail are complete, a culvert replacement project will begin on Edgefield Lane. The road will remain open during this work; however, motorists should expect a lane closure and possible delays.

The City of Lucas recently hosted a Community Reception to honor the dedicated service of Councilmembers Tim Johnson and Brian Stubblefield as they concluded their terms on the Lucas City Council.

During the reception, Mayor and Council recognized both councilmembers with proclamations and appreciation gifts in gratitude for their years of service, leadership, and commitment to the Lucas community. We thank Councilmembers Johnson and Stubblefield for their contributions and wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

The evening also marked an exciting new chapter for the City, as Jonathan Underhill was sworn in as Councilmember for Place 1 and Rebecca Orr was sworn in as Councilmember for Place 2.

Please join us in thanking Councilmembers Johnson and Stubblefield for their service and welcoming Councilmembers Underhill and Orr to the Lucas City Council.
