🇺🇸 We Will Never Forget

This morning, Lucas Fire-Rescue hosted a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony, bringing together City staff, Council, residents, and members of our community to honor and remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember those who lost their lives, honor the first responders who courageously answered the call, and recognize the families forever impacted by that day.

Thank you to Lucas Fire Department and everyone who joined us in remembrance.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Join us on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, as neighborhoods across Lucas come together for an evening of community, connection, and crime prevention!

This year is especially exciting as the Lucas Police Department, officially launching October 1, joins Lucas Fire-Rescue in visiting neighborhood celebrations throughout the community.

National Night Out is a great opportunity to:

Roll up your sleeves and help us keep Lucas beautiful! Join us for the Public Lands Trail Cleanup and help remove litter and debris from local trails, shorelines, and public lands.

📅 Saturday, September 19
⏰ 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
📍 Highland Park area off Snider Lane

Since this community cleanup began, 300+ volunteers have removed more than 6,000 pounds of trash and debris. Let’s keep it going!

🙌 Families, scout troops, school groups, youth organizations, and individuals are all encouraged to participate.

🧤 We provide the supplies
🍽️ Lunch is provided
🌳 You provide the helping hands!

The City of Lucas and Collin County are under a burn ban due to current dry conditions and extreme fire danger. Outdoor burning is prohibited within the City of Lucas and unincorporated areas of Collin County while the ban remains in effect.

The burn ban will remain in effect for 90 days unless the Texas A&M Forest Service or the Collin County Commissioners' Court determines that it is no longer necessary.

Residents are encouraged to use additional caution with any outdoor activity that could produce sparks or ignite dry vegetation.
