We are proud of our member Dr Stachowiak!

Meet Janice Stachowiak, MD, a dedicated TMAA and TMA member – a distinction that reflects her commitment to medicine and public health. Janice has served in various roles on the Lubbock County Medical Society Alliance (LCMSA) board, lending her time and expertise to initiatives that benefit her community.

Since 2014, Janice has overseen local Hard Hats for Little Heads bicycle helmet giveaway events and often collaborates with other organizations to promote community health initiatives. As LCMSA co-president in 2015, she helped establish the South Plains Immunization Network (SPIN), a coalition that improves access to vaccinations in her community. Janice also has successfully applied for grants and ordered vaccines for SPIN’s events, including the annual flu vaccine clinic at the South Plains Food Bank, hosted by SPIN and LCMSA.

Through the alliance, Janice has dedicated her efforts to initiatives such as Turn It Off Today which aims to reduce screen time, gun safety events, s*x trafficking awareness, and Texas BookShare. She also coordinates medical student volunteers for community events, fostering the next generation of physicians.

Janice is married to Cloyce L. Stetson, MD, a dermatologist, and together they have three children pursuing graduate and undergraduate studies. She continues to inspire others, working one day a week with third-year medical students while giving back to her community.

Congratulations to Dr. Donald Quick, our 2024 Hippocratic Award Recipient!
Join us on November 15th at our Annual Meeting and Foundation Fundraiser as we celebrate Dr. Quick’s outstanding contributions to medicine and the community. Funds from this event will also support local mental health and substance abuse programs, making a meaningful impact in our area.

The TMAA Resident Emergency Fund supports its resident physician families when they face an unexpected financial crisis. One recipient had this to say: “TMAA has consistently and strongly been an advocate for physician families especially those still along the arduous and lengthy road of education and training. We are forever grateful for the support and kindness during our early years and look forward to giving back as we proceed beyond residency.”
