Updates from the Lubbock-Cooper FFA chapter!

10/26/2026

We would like to recognize our American Degree Recipients. An American Degree is the highest level of active membership and achievement in the National FA Organization, awarded to less than 1% of all FA members. Last week, our chapter made an appearance with a few of our 2025 graduates. Congratulations to Zion Palmer, Katelyn Bednarz, Laiken Beerwinkle, Dax Black (not pictured), Abrianna Leija, and former LCHS student Mckenzie Thummel.

SECOND IN THE NATION!

Lubbock-Cooper FFA’s very own Josephine Butts took the national stage at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was named National Runner-Up in Agriscience Fair, Social Science Division 3!

Josephine’s agriscience project, “Spice Up Safety: Can Cinnamon Compete with Nitrites in Ground Beef?”, earned her a spot among the best in the nation!

What an incredible achievement and a proud moment for Lubbock-Cooper FFA! Congratulations, Josephine, on representing our chapter at the highest level and bringing home this outstanding honor!

A huge congratulations to Kendall on an incredible accomplishment at the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo!

Kendall competed through 9 heats of Senior Showmanship, advancing through the semifinals and finals to earn a spot in the Overall Showmanship Showdown. She then competed against the top 3 showmen from each division—Junior, Intermediate, and Senior—and came away as Reserve Grand Champion Steer Showman!

With over 300 showmen competing, this is an outstanding achievement and a true testament to Kendall’s hard work and dedication!
