[7:30 Friday Oct 30] - It is a soggy start to the day across west Texas, and rain is expected to continue through much of the morning. Some flooded roadways are possible, especially in low-lying or urban areas. Thus far, much of the South Plains has received between 0.75-1.25" of rain, with lower amounts across the Rolling Plains and far southern Texas Panhandle.

It'll be a cool and dreary end to the work week as rain showers continue through much of the day. Periods of heavy rainfall are possible which may result in localized flooding.

Showers and thunderstorms are tracking northward across portions of our area and should be reaching Lubbock within the next hour or so. Periods of heavy rain are possible. More steady rain remains on track to develop early tomorrow morning and persist through much of the day. No changes to the Flood Watch.

A Flood Watch is in effect through Friday evening. Showers move in this evening and become widespread overnight into Friday morning. 1-2" of rain is possible, with localized amounts as high as 3". This may lead to flooding. If traveling overnight or early Friday morning, use caution as flooding can be difficult to spot in the dark. Rain will gradually taper off Friday afternoon.

A Flood Watch is in effect from 4 PM this afternoon through 8 PM Friday for the entire region. Prolong periods of rain showers that will fill in this evening could result in flooding. Up to 1-3 inches with the potential for locally higher totals is possible.

An upper level storm system will bring increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms mainly from Thursday night through the day on Friday. Locally heavy rainfall is possible in some areas Thursday night and Friday.

We are seeing patchy fog for areas on the Caprock. This should clear after sunrise. The rest of Wednesday will be warm with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s with partly cloudy skies.

An upper level storm system will bring increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms mainly from Thursday night through the day on Friday.

Once the fog and lingering showers clear, it will be a mild Tuesday with highs in the 70s.

Showers and a few storms will continue across the region this evening into tonight, gradually shifting eastward in time. Any lingering rainfall will come to an end Tuesday morning. Additional rainfall amounts will generally be less than a half inch, so flooding is unlikely.
