🏃‍♀️🚴May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month! 🧘‍♂️ ⚽

Physical activity is one of the best things you can do for your overall health. Regular movement can help improve heart health, reduce stress, boost mood and energy levels, strengthen muscles and bones, and lower the risk of chronic disease.

Adults should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity each week — that’s just about 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week!

This month, we encourage everyone in Lewis County to find the type of movement that brings them joy. Whether it’s walking, gardening, biking, dancing, playing sports, hiking, swimming, or stretching with yoga, every bit of movement counts

The best physical activity is the one you enjoy and can make part of your routine. Let’s make May a month to move more, feel better, and support healthier lifestyles together! 💚

Words matter more than we think 💚

Let’s choose words that lift each other up and foster compassion.

Together, we can build a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported.

Mental health touches every one of us either directly or through someone we love.

The words we choose matter. Speaking with compassion and understanding can help others feel seen, heard, and respected.

Young people thrive when support comes early 💚

Sometimes the most important step is simply listening. Taking the time to hear the concerns of a young person in your life can help them feel safe, understood, and more comfortable sharing what they’re experiencing.
