We are saddened to hear of the passing of our department's Chaplin, Father Samuel Lundy. Father Lundy served the men and women of this department and our community with unwavering dedication and compassion for many years. His presence brought comfort to those in need and support to our staff in difficult times.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lundy family. Wishing you peace and comfort in the days ahead🕊️

‼️SCAM ALERT‼️

SCAM ALERT: Another wave of fake toll texts and emails are circulating to New Yorkers. These messages claim you owe money and often ask you to click a link or reply “Y.” Don’t do it! The Thruway Authority, E‑ZPass, and Tolls by Mail never send unsolicited texts like this.

Texts from E-ZPass NY are informational only and will never demand money from you. If you have never signed up to receive sms alerts from E-ZPassNY, you should report the text as Spam. If you have signed up for mobile alerts and have questions about a text you received, you should visit our official website E-ZPassny.com

🆘📞☎️ 911 dispatchers are the calm voice in the storm. They give vital information to other first responders and help save lives in moments of crisis. It’s time for public safety telecommunicators to get the respect they’ve earned💛🖤

The U.S. Senate has already acted. Now, the House must pass a bill to ensure these professionals receive federal recognition as a protective service occupation.

Trail Update – Please Read

All Brantingham Snomads trails remain CLOSED at this time. Once our trails close for the season, they do not reopen. Riding on them while closed is not permitted.

We are aware that some riders are still attempting to access the trail system. Please be advised that you cannot get from Brantingham to Old Forge / C7E due to a bridge that is out in Herkimer County. The bridge was washed out and the route is impassable.

For your safety and the safety of others, please do not ride the trail system while it is closed.

Anyone who continues to ride the closed trails is doing so entirely at their own risk.

We appreciate everyone who respected the trails this season and helped make it a great year for the club. Thank you for your cooperation.

Spring is nearly here, and so is the annual burn ban. As the snow melts and temperatures rise, New York State is at an increased risk of wildfires in the spring. In effect from March 16 through May 14, the annual burn ban prohibits residents from burning vegetation and brush with few exceptions.

NEW SCAM ALERT

Message from Lewis County Clerk Jake Moser: Recently it has been brought to our attention that a QR code scam is being sent to residents appearing to look like a court summons stating that they owe toll fees. A QR code is present on this fake summons.

It is imperative that residents do not scan this code to make a payment to this letter. A Court summons will not come with an accompanying QR code to make a payment.

If your out driving around today, SLOW DOWN!!
Yes the sun is out😎☀️, Yes its not snowing for once 🙌☃️...but due to the extremely cold temperatures🥶 Salt is not melting the ice on the roads, causing very slippery conditions (especially on the State roads)
💥State Route 12 near Blue St and near Marks Farm is VERY slippery, so take caution if driving through that area.
