Lewis County Soil & Water Conservation District The Lewis County Soil and Water Conservation District is a contract agency with Lewis County and we You may be surprised at what you might learn.

Our goal is to aid our local farmers and the general public in protecting and enhancing our natural resources and ecology. We proudly do our part in protecting natural resources in the Tug Hill Plateau, Adirondacks and the Black River Valley of Lewis County. We look forward to seeing a healthier and stronger Upstate, as well as a productive economy brought about by the education we provide to see

Registration is out for the Black River Watershed Conference! All are welcome if you are interested in water quality issues affecting communities in the Black River Watershed!

Registration is open for the 16th Annual Black River Watershed Conference on June 3 at Tug Hill Estate in Lowville!

Our draft agenda includes a great lineup of speakers to talk about projects helping the watershed, climate communication, wildlife monitoring, deicing salt, and more!

We also have a call for poster session abstracts. We invite students, researchers, practitioners, municipalities, and community partners to submit poster abstracts.
