πŸ”₯ Grill Safely This Season! πŸ”₯
Nothing says summer like firing up the grill, but safety should always come first.

βœ… Keep your grill at least 10 feet away from your home, deck railings, and overhanging branches.

βœ… Never leave a lit grill unattended.

βœ… Keep children and pets at least 3 feet away from the grilling area.

βœ… Clean grease and fat buildup regularly to prevent flare-ups.

βœ… Check propane tanks and connections for leaks before use.

βœ… Keep a fire extinguisher nearby and know how to use it.
A few simple precautions can help prevent fires and keep your cookout safe and enjoyable.

πŸš’ Your local fire department wishes everyone a safe grilling season!

As temperatures rise, more families are spending time in and around swimming pools. A few simple precautions can help prevent tragedy:

Always supervise children around waterβ€”never leave them unattended.

Designate a "Water Watcher" who stays focused on swimmers and avoids distractions like phones.

Ensure gates and pool barriers are secure and self-latching.

Keep rescue equipment and a phone nearby in case of emergency.

Learn CPR and basic water rescue skills.

Encourage swimmers of all ages to wear properly fitted life jackets when needed.

Remember: Drowning can happen quickly and quietly.

Stay alert, stay prepared, and help keep your family safe this summer.

PSA for Today. Please keep in mind that it is against both State and County Laws to open burn in Lake County.

As we close out the month of May, your Lake Dalecarlia Volunteer Fire Department has responded to 168 calls so far this year. You might be asking yourself what all does the Fire Department respond to, we respond to a variety of calls which are all unique and sometimes quite challenging. But rest assured we are always ready to accept any challenges.
We are always ready to assist Tri Creek EMS on medical emergencies, ensuring a compassionate response when needed. It fills us with pride to know we back up The Lowell Fire Department and Cedar Lake Fire Department, and any Fire Department that requires our support during emergency situations. We've traveled near and far to assist Fire Departments across Lake, Porter and Newton Counties. We also cross the Indiana/Illinois state line and assist our neighbors in Illinois. We thank our community and Trustees for the trust and support in keeping us going to protect our community and the surrounding communities when we are called to action.

Despite Mother Nature's lack of cooperation, your Lake Dale Fire Department conducted some Sunday morning training on Automotive Extraction. It's a awesome reminder of their dedication, and their commitment to our community's safety. This kind of training is crucial, and it’s inspiring to see them keeping us all safe . Think of them today and send appreciation for their countless hours of dedication to the community.

We are thrilled to highlight an exceptional young individual from our community! This is Evie. Evie is 5 years old, and is the neighbor of Firefighter Lt. Eric Love. Evie decided to tap into her piggy bank and make a donation to the Fire Department. This young lady exemplifies the best of us, and is inspiring to everyone. Thank you Evie!

Every $dollar makes a difference! A huge thank you to our community. Your donations to the Hoosier Burn Camp came to around $2,500.00 (plus 3 keys 😁). This money will cover the cost for several kids to attend summer camp, or one of their other programs. We thank you all!
Please be sure to check out to see all their smiles and to learn more about this great organization.
