Doors Open Lowell

Doors Open Lowell See a different side of Lowell...the inside! The event provides an inside look at many of Lowell’s historic buildings, many not normally open to the public.

Celebrating its 16th anniversary this year May 18-20, 2017, Doors Open Lowell is the community’s signature preservation, architecture, and design event. Presented as part of National Preservation Month, it’s a celebration of urban living and culture where people and preservation have made Lowell a creative and exciting place to live, work, and visit. Doors Open events happen annually in over 47 co

untries and Lowell was the first city in the United States to launch this prestigious event dedicated to built heritage, architecture, and design in 2002. About this page:

That's a wrap for Doors Open Lowell 2026. Thanks to our sponsors, everyone who opened their buildings, and all who helped make the event happen.

Our attendance winner for this year was Tremont Yard who saw 717 visitors between 1-4pm.

Despite the off and on showers, we saw many people out and about at the various sites, including many families, sporting their blue event stickers. It was one of most well attended Doors Open Lowells ever! We hope everyone had fun being a Lowell "insider" today and let us know what your favorite building was you visited.

See you in 2027!
