The Copper Fisherman is a hammered copper statue of a fly fisherman standing on the North Branch of the Ausable River in Lovells, MI. He was made by George Charney in 2013. His name is Bob and he doesn't mind visitors as long as they're careful and quiet. He's just a few steps upstream from the 1st fishing public access site 0.3 miles north of County 612 Rd. on Twinbridge Rd. If you get lost, stop at the hardware store, buy a sticky bun and ask for directions. Tell them you're looking for Bob.

We had a lovely evening and dinner at the color tour at Treetops Resort in Ga***rd last night. Evidently, the Spring ice storm caused the color change to be about a week behind There was a bit of color, but Pam was even prettier than last year.

Hi all!!
George raked and chainsawed all day and then got me out of the shed! He knew I was upset about missing opening day.
Come see me when you can! Bob

Hi all!
Just FYI. George will be a bit late getting me out of the shed this year. The ice storm really did a lot of damage down here in the meadow and he still has lots of cleanup to do. I’ll probably be out sometime in early May.
Look forward to seeing you soon.

Hi all.
I’m going into my shed for the winter now.
Of course, George screwed up the picture of Richard and me before the door closed for the year!
Thanks for a great season.
Happy Holidays to all and be good to each other. See you in the Spring!

My wife Pam’s baking mentor, Cindy Hall (Baker Extraordinaire) had mentioned a bread making bowl and I was between projects, so I gave the new lathe a workout.
She really liked it and started using it within a few minutes of Pam’s delivery. I always enjoy it when a few pieces of lumber turn into something a friend will use. Many thanks to Tom McKinney (Marcy McKinney) for the use of his huge 20” planer and kind assistance in using that monster machine!😊😊😊

I’m out of the shed and ready for the “Opener” on Saturday!
When you’re in Lovells for the “Leaky Waders” race, the Cheerful Givers Craft Show and the Historical Museum and School House opening, come see me 800 feet north from the museum on Twin Bridge (8606) and park on the road or at the public access next door. There’s a path down to my meadow on the river from the public access but it’s easier to take the stairs on the left side of the house which you are welcome to use.
Hope to see you soon!!
Bob

Once again it’s time for me to take a long winter’s nap. It was a great summer with many visits from friends old and new!
George has me all boxed up and I’m sleepy.
Have a great holiday season and I’ll see you all in the Spring.
Be kind to each other
