We had a few members attend the live fire structure training outside of Ashton today hosted by Ashton Fire. We would like to say Thank You to Ashton Fire for the invite. Also a huge Thank You to Andy Gappa and family for the donation of the structure to train in. These types of training are a great real life scenario for younger members of departments to get hands on experience with structure fire training. They get to experience live fire in a home setting and learn how to safely and effectively deal with it. More experienced firefighters got the chance for training in instruction, pumper operations, water supply, and scene management.

Departments involved today that I can remember include:
Dannebrog Fire
Ashton Fire
Cairo Fire
Boelus Fire
Rockville Fire
Mason City Fire
Litchfield Fire
North Loup - Scotia Fire
Farwell Fire
Loup City - Ashton - Rockville Rescue
Loup City Fire

Also helping was:
Village of Ashton
Trotters - Ashton

At this time, with the recent moisture, we are going to release the restriction on the use of personal fire pits and burn barrels. That being said, we ask that people use common sense when doing so in considering the winds and conditions. No burning when winds are over 15 mph. Consider the use of screens over the top to help control embers. We will still hold off at this time on any burn permits. All restrictions will continue to be monitored in relation to weather conditions and can change at any time.

We have made it home from the Pressey Fire. Due to moisture and higher humidity they have released all departments from the fire. Thank you for all the prayers.
