If you're new here, Safe Haven Family Resource Center serves children, youth, caregivers, and families throughout Louisville. Our mission is centered on providing comprehensive, holistic support that helps families rebuild stability, strengthen relationships, and create healthier, safer futures.

Our work includes Therapeutic Foster Care, foster parent training and support, youth placement, supervised visitation, family preservation and reunification services, individual and family therapy, therapeutic services, and more.

MEET | Walter Murrah III, Director of Community Engagement and Marketing at Safe Haven Family Resource Center.

Walter leads community outreach, marketing strategy, partnerships, and public awareness efforts.

Through storytelling, relationship building, and collaborative initiatives, Walter works to strengthen Safe Haven’s presence in the community and ensure families know where to turn when they need support.

Walter is passionate about strengthening families, empowering youth, and creating community centered solutions that lead to real and lasting change. His work blends creativity, strategy, and purpose to create opportunities and expand access for children and families.

With experience leading multi million dollar initiatives focused on youth development, family engagement, and community empowerment, Walter brings a unique perspective shaped by nonprofit leadership, media, and entertainment. His approach is rooted in relationships, collaboration, and building platforms that celebrate people, culture, and possibility.

Beyond his professional work, Walter is a man of faith, a devoted husband, father, friend, and DJ. His passion comes from pouring back into communities like the one that shaped him and making sure others have access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to grow, heal, and thrive.
