kNOw Waste Wednesday ♻️
Got a large plastic container—like a laundry basket, storage bin, or tote—that you’re ready to toss?
🚫 Don’t put it in your curbside recycling bin.
Items that big can’t be sorted at the recycling facility (and broken pieces don’t make the cut either).
✅ Do bring it to us instead!
We’re collecting bulky plastic items for recycling at our upcoming:
Pop-Up Drop-Off Event
📍 Doss High School
📅 Saturday, June 13, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Give those hard-to-recycle plastics a second life! 💚

The wait is over, CycLOUvia is back!

Join us this June on Logan Street in the Shelby Park and Smoketown neighborhoods to take over the street in a joyful celebration of alternative transportation.

We’re transforming one of Louisville Metro’s great urban corridors into a paved park just for you and your friends. You know the drill: come run, dance, roll, skip, or stroll from Goss Avenue to East Broadway!

NO CARS, JUST NEIGHBORS! 🚲🏃🏿‍♀️🛼🛹🦽💃

**Goss Avenue, East Broadway, and South Shelby Street will remain open for vehicular traffic.

🍦 kNOw Waste Wednesday: Ice Cream Cartons 🍦

Love a good scoop? Here’s what to do with the carton when you’re done:

✅ Yes — paper ice cream cartons ARE accepted in recycling!
Even though they feel like cardboard, they have a thin plastic lining to keep your ice cream from leaking – and that’s okay for recycling. (The all-plastic containers are accepted too - but they could be reused!)

♻️ Quick tips before you recycle:
• Empty it completely (no leftover ice cream!)
• Give it a quick rinse if needed
• Toss it in your recycling bin (recycle the lid too!)

🚫 Skip the landfill when you can! Small actions like recycling everyday items help reduce waste and keep valuable materials in use.
