📣 Cost shares for practices that protect soil & water resources!
📣Applications open until October 1st!!

The Kentucky State Cost-Share program was created to assist agricultural operations in protecting the soil and water resources of Kentucky by providing financial resources for qualified practices. Funding comes from the Kentucky General Assembly through direct appropriations to the program from the To***co Settlement Funds and from funds provided by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Soil and Water Conservation Districts are the entity that stewards the State Cost Share.

State cost shares cover 75% of actual cost to applicants for a range of prioritized project types, up to $20,000/yr.

Qualifying practices for urban areas include:
Grade Stabilization Structure; Riparian Forest Buffer; Riparian Herbaceous Cover; Roof Runoff Structure; Roofs and Covers; Trails and Walkways; Tree and Shrub Establishment; Water and Sediment Control Basin & more!

You can learn details of the cost shares, ranking scores, and how to apply on our website, jeffcd.org/state-cost-share
After the application window closes on Oct. 1, applicants will be notified of their status in one month and be provided a timeline for project completion in their award notification.

Cost-shares for High Tunnels and Low Tunnels ARE NOW OPEN! From September 1st to September 30th, we will be accepting applications for high tunnel and low tunnel construction funding.

We encourage you to take the time to look into high tunnels and low tunnels to see if they would be a good fit for your operation before applying. The process from application to completed build should be done by the end of the year.

You can learn details of the cost-shares, ranking scores, and how to apply on our website at jeffcd.org/season-extension-program

FOR HIGH TUNNELS: Before applying, there are some steps you must follow in order to have your application considered. Please read through the page linked on our season extension program page to learn more and get started on the pre-application process.

For high tunnels: the cost-share will be a flat rate of $3,000 or the actual cost of construction - whichever is lower.
For low tunnels: the cost-share will be for 50-100% of the total cost for materials, with a maximum allowable reimbursement of $1,500, based on the applicant's ranking score.

Extend the growing season and keep your crops safe from the elements by establishing a high or low tunnel system!
