It's Wildlife Wednesday! 🦗
We are returning to the fascinating world of insects today with a video of a grasshopper that recently joined me on my patio couch. I found its swaying dance interesting. Apparently, if they feel threatened, they will sway in an attempt to camouflage themselves to look like a swaying leaf in the wind. I also read that they may sway before jumping to get better depth perception.

I promise you that the grasshopper escaped unscathed!!!! My dog caught both the grasshopper and myself by surprise. The grasshopper has incredibly quick reflexes and safely hopped away before my dog make contact. As a matter of fact, the grasshopper's landing spot was my shirt. 🤦♀️
