This is the final week of the campaign. The Hourly workers Unite slate started this campaign in July. Since then we have raised over $10,000, handed out over 30,000 pieces of literature, and visited over 50 companies, (some of them 5-6 times). We have did this while also working full time jobs. In all of our handouts we have not tried to attack anyone personally, however we have tried to get out the truth and facts about our union hall and how it is ran.
Throughout the history of Local 89 elections, we know one thing. And that is in the last week of the election Zuckerman makes up his biggest lies. IN Zenith for example Agents are telling some of the stewards that if Jim is elected that they will be fired. (This is a lie). Stewards are not even hired or fired by the Local, Stewards can be appointed but it is the membership at zenith that chooses which stewards they are represented by.
Other lies that we have heard, At Jeffboat they are telling the membership that one of our slate members called them some names. This is ridiculous, We are all Teamsters and our goal from the start was to bring the membership together not to divide it and make it weak.
In the final week, the hourly worker unite slate hopes that all the hard work we have did over the last 6 months will be remembered. It is a fact Jim Anderson has personally been to scores of sites and asked over 10,000 people for their vote in this election. Hardly anyone has seen Zuckerman during this entire election. Zuckerman has spent the last year in Campaigns , but he sends his agents to do all of his campaigning.

Please help us in this last week of the Campaign, That is the only way we will have a chance to win it.

Remember if you sent a request for a absentee ballot, you should receive it Monday or Tuesday in the mail, Once you get it you must fill it out immediately and put it back in the mail. Because if the ballot is not received by Saturday it will not be counted. (Hopefully the mail will only take a couple of days reaching he local, but we have no guarantees) If you have doubts that your vote may not make it in time,you can go to the Local Union Hall next Friday and Saturday between 8am and 8pm and vote in person. As the rules read your last vote is the one that counts.

Just a Note to the membership. As of today we have filed 12 election protest. (Election protest are first decided by Secretary Treasurer John Bolton and Bolton has denied all of them, so we are appealing them). This election like any other election has rules. Some of the rules include the union hall can not use their office to campaign, they are suppose to play by the same rules as us. (We campaign at companies using vacation time, or before or after work waiting for employees that are about to go in or get off of work).
As of today we have filed protest that include the Union Hall using our own money we pay in the form of dues, to campaign against us, other protest include agents being paid by us, on the clock, going onto company property to campaign, Its no wonder that no one has ever beat the Union Hall in a election when they make the rules and also decide if they are being broken. Hopefully the membership will hold them accountable at election time.

THIS IS A QUICK LETTER OUT TO OUR VOLUNTEERS. THIS IS THE WEEK TO GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT. IF YOU HAVE HANDOUTS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN USED, TAKE THEM TO WORK AND PUT THEM ON THE BREAK TABLES. IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS THAT ARE LOCAL 89 TEAMSTERS FORWARD THEM EMAILS THAT WE HAVE PUT OUT. TALK TO EVERYONE AROUND YOU AND TRY TO GET PEOPLE TO VOTE, THIS MAY BE THE LAST REALISTIC CHANCE THAT WE WILL EVER BE ABLE TO GIVE OUR LOCAL BACK TO THE MEMBERSHIP.

JEFFBOAT WORKERS NOW IS THE TIME TO HOLD YOUR UNION ACCOUNTABLE.
Several years ago you voted on a contract, many of you had no trust in the local union leadership at that time. Before you cast your votes on the contract, you opened the ballot box, to make sure it was empty. Five hundred Jeffboat teamsters voted nay, twenty three voted yay. After voting a motion was made to oust 89 teamster president Fred Zuckerman and Business Manager Jeff Cooper. The motion was seconded and thirded The meeting ended with all the workers going back to work under the old contract, for another year. There is a local union election this week, and no union member/slate, that has not already been on the local unions payroll has won this election. This year it will change, with your help.
Local 89 does not put the membership first. Jeffboat along with Fireking and most of the other companies has a history with Zuckerman that confirms they do not put the membership first. But this week is the only time you can hold the Local accountable!

Zuckerman gets a $100.00 a day food allowance
Gets 3 pensions while he holds three positions in the teamsters and just got done running for a forth trying to get a forth penstion and a extra 75,000 a year on top of his 240,000 he made last year. (However he got beat by a dead guy).

How can Zuckerman do 3 jobs at the same time?

Part Time employees once received dependent Healthcare coverage after 9 weeks, it now takes them 18 months. (Local 89 Leadership voted yes to approve this)

A part- time employee starting rate has raised only .50 cents in almost 3 decades.

In 1997 after the strike we won thousands of full time jobs, After a decade of Zuckerman it now takes longer to become full-time than when he took office.

After 25 years an Air District Full time employee has a better chance to lose their job by being injured or getting fired, than receiving a full pention.

17 days till the election. Fred is lying to the members again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will Fred Zuckerman Lie to his supporters and have them show up to a debate that has not been agreed to? As thousands of Teamsters have already voted. (Those over 20 miles, got their ballots last week), Fred Zuckerman JUST NOW DECIDED THAT IT WAS A GOOD TIME FOR A DEBATE (He is feeling the pressure). HOWEVER HE has sunk to new lows. IN HIS PROPOSAL, he set all the rules to the debate.
Jim Anderson will not be Bullied by Fred Zuckerman. Zuckerman wants to control what questions are asked, how long the answers are, who ask, and who the moderator is.
After Zuckerman notified Jim of what he wanted. JIM DELIVERED THIS MESSAGE TO ZUCKERMAN. ZUCKERMAN HAS RECEIVED THIS MESSAGE, AND WE CAN PROVE IT.

In regards to your request for a Presidential Candidate Forum on December 4th, 2011:
Several of my supporters and I have experienced your version of acceptable conduct during the nominations meeting. In which my supporters were heckled, cussed at, challenged to fights, and pushed. Every effort to intimidate them was made, while you incited the crowd at the start of the meeting under your “Point of Privilege.” One of my slate members even had their car urinated on.
So, I am not going to agree to debate on your terms. If you would like to designate a Representative to meet with my representative , we can work out details to an agreeable forum.

SO the truth is, ZUCKERMAN HAS NOT RESPONDED TO THIS LETTER (SENT EARLIER THIS WEEK). ZUCKERMAN will not BULLY OUR SLATE. ZUCKERMAN DOES NOT MAKE ALL THE RULES. THERE WILL NOT BE A DEBATE UNLESS ZUCKERMAN AGREES TO HAVE A FAIR DEBATE. THE BIG QUESTION IS. WILL FRED ZUCKERMAN EVEN THOUGH HE KNOWS NO DEBATE HAS BEEN AGREED TO, CONTINUE TO LIE TO THE MEMBERSHIP AND GET THESE HARD WORKING TEAMSTERS TO SPEND THEIR SUNDAY AFTERNOON DRIVING TO A DEBATE THAT HE KNOWS HAS NEVER BEEN AGREED TO, AND WILL NOT UNDER HIS RULES. AND AS OF NOW THE DEC 4Th DATE COULD NOT POSSIBLY WORK BECAUSE OF HIS DIRTY Politics. FRED EVEN THOUGH HE KNOWS ALL THIS TO BE TRUE, HAS PUT OUT HUNDREDS OF EMAILS AND POSTED A TIME AND PLACE FOR A DEBATE LEADING MEMBERS TO BELIEVE THERE IS A DEBATE AGREED TO. WHY ARE YOU TELLING MEMBERS THIS FRED? IS THIS A LAST MINUTE TACTIC TO GET THEM TO SHOW UP AND THEN LIE TO THEM AGAIN SAYING JIM DID NOT SHOW?
FRED IS DISPARATE, HE HAS HEARD FROM THE MEMBERSHIP IN RECENT WEEKS. THE MEMBERSHIP HAS ALSO HEARD HIS LIES, AND ARE WITNESSING HIS 1920s, mob rule tactics.
JIM ANDERSON HAS SPENT THE LAST 6 MONTHS GOING TO SCORES OF WORK-SITES ANSWERING EVERY MEMBERS QUESTION. FRED IS WELCOME TO TALK WITH JIM ON A FAIR DEBATE IN THE FUTURE.
