We are looking to sell 5532 and are currently checking with a broker. We would first offer it to anyone from McMahan or local if we can. If you have driven it or checked it out since we acquired it, it is still in the same condition. We last had it out for the derby parade and it did fine.

I appreciate all who have joined this group to keep McMahan’s community service alive.

We all have committed so much of our lives to the Crusade for Children and I wish to provide the opportunity to continue to that service. Last year after last minute opportunities, we were able to contribute a respectable donation to the Crusade for Children on behalf of the Retired McMahan Fire Fighters. Several members had expressed interest in doing roadblocks or additional work to collect more donations for this remarkable organization.

I am asking that if anyone is willing to step up to organize the collections for McMahan or Jefferson County former Fire Fighters, we will make arrangements to have the trucks available to support your work. We will additionally provide the necessary collection bags to secure any collected donations. Please contact me at [email protected] or 502-876-6321 please leave a message if I do not answer and I will return your call asap.

Respectfully,

Kevin Fletcher

It is with great sadness and our deepest sympathy to report that Retired Captain Rick Gossman passed away Friday morning after his long and courageous battle with cancer. He was taken from us much too early at age 51. Capt. Gossman selflessly and honorably served the McMahan Fire Protection District and our community for 32 years. Capt. Gossman loved his family, his community, and his friends. He will be sorely missed by all. His death will be treated as a line of duty death under the provisions of Kentucky’s Firefighter Cancer Presumption law. Visitation and funeral information linked below. Please keep his family and brothers and sisters in blue in your thoughts and prayers. Rest easy BROTHER, you are no longer in pain. We have the watch from here. -Retired Chief Pat Walsh

Board Members, fire fighters, family and interested members of the community gathered for the final meeting of the Board of Trustees. This actually happened a couple of weeks ago. In all the commotion of the final days, I just forgot that I hadn't posted these. Photos by FF Dan Prater and Sgt. Gary Prater
