Ethan Lambert has been with Louisville Metro Government since 2017. In 2021 he became Performance Improvement Manager with OPI. Let's get to know Ethan:

What is your favorite part of your job?
Being able to directly help make a difference in the place I live. Public service is difficult, often overlooked, work but I cannot imagine I would find any other type of job as rewarding. My favorite part of the job is that the goal is to help the world, not just chase the almighty $$$.

What would be one thing you'd remove from your daily routine?
Eating. It would be great if I could stay healthy without having to cook or buy groceries all the time. Unfortunately, I am not sure I could get the hang of photosynthesis.

Have you read any books that changed your perspective on life?
1. The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander
2. Guerilla Government – The Ethics of Dissent by Rosemary O’Leary
3. Justice: What’s the Right Thing to Do? by Michael Sandel
4. And can’t forget classics like Brave New World, 1984, or Animal Farm

Are there any movies you wish you could see again for the first time?
Let’s go with Stargate. I have always been a big Sci-Fi fan & that is one of my favorites.

What's something you're planning on doing in the next year that you've never done?
It is technically 13 months away, but I look forward to finishing my master's degree in public administration

Now its time to meet one of OPI's Project Managers, Annette Dangerfield! She's been at OPI since 2020 and here are her answers to some pressing questions:

What is your favorite part of your job? I love being able to interact with people from across the enterprise. It's really gratifying to know that what we do impacts so much of Metro's operations and that we can help in so many areas. Its also cool to learn what other people are doing in their own departments.

What would be one thing you'd remove from your daily routine? Driving everywhere. Having lived abroad briefly gave me a whole new perspective of public transport and I really miss it!

Have you read any books that changed your perspective on life? So many... I read the Power of Habit recently and it has helped me break down the barriers to starting new habits. Highly recommend.

Are there any movies you wish you could see again for the first time? Avatar and Avatar the Way of Water. Both are truly so beautiful and captivating.

What's something you're planning on doing in the next year that you've never done? I want this year to be the year I join a board and serve the community in that capacity. I'm feeling much more embedded in Louisville since moving here right before the pandemic but I think that will help even more.
