Today, our EMS team was able to reunite with a patient for a special lunch to honor the anniversary of his miraculous recovery from a life-threatening event. The department is incredibly proud of our providers each and every day. Great job, Paramedics Taylor and Gentry! Keep up the good work.

Today marks one year since Major Tracy Jevning’s passing, and it’s hard to believe that a year has passed. For those of us fortunate enough to have worked with her, the feeling remains the same: there is a hole in our organization that simply cannot be filled.

As her family wrote in her obituary, and as anyone who knew her would agree, “she was the best of the best.” Tracy had a way of lifting people up and making the day's fun. Whether it was a "lunch bunch" text at 9:30 asking where everyone was meeting that day or pulling someone aside who was having a hard day and speaking to them, Tracy always had others in mind.

I hope each of you finds your own way of honoring Tracy today — whether it’s giving your best effort on a run, picking up a bag of Nerd Clusters, or making someone laugh the way she so often did. She left a legacy of dedication and kindness, and carrying a piece of that forward is one of the best ways we can continue to honor her.

We miss you, Tracy. Thank you for everything!

🚒 Congratulations on Your Retirement, Major Rick Baker! 🎉

This morning, we proudly celebrated the retirement of Major Rick Baker, who has faithfully served the Lyndon and St. Matthews Fire Departments since 1997. After 28 years of dedicated service, Major Baker hung up his gear for the final time today.

Crews from 1st and 3rd Platoon came together to give him the send-off he truly deserves — a morning filled with gratitude, camaraderie, and heartfelt goodbyes.

Major Baker’s leadership, professionalism, and commitment to our community have made a lasting impact on everyone around him. We thank him for nearly three decades of service and sacrifice.

Wishing you all the best in retirement, Major. You’ve earned it! 🔥🚒
