A major winter storm will impact our region Jan 24–26, with a Winter Storm Warning in effect for nearly all of Kentuckiana. Expect heavy snow, ice, dangerous travel, outages, and bitter cold.

🌨 WHAT TO EXPECT
Heavy Snowfall
• 8–12 inches or more expected across much of Kentuckiana.
• Louisville has a 70% chance of 8+ inches and up to 12+ inches in the heaviest band.
Ice & Sleet Risks
• Southern areas may see freezing rain and sleet, increasing risk for downed lines and outages.

Timing
• Heaviest snow expected Saturday through Sunday.
• Snow likely reaches Louisville between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday.

Travel Conditions
• Expect treacherous or impassable roads, low visibility, and hazardous driving.

Nationally, 211 has seen a significant surge in calls, and Kentucky is no exception. Over the past month, our food resource inquiries have more than doubled, with anticipated continued growth moving forward. If you need support, please know that 211 is here to help, empowering you to navigate challenges and thrive.

Between January and mid-October 2025, calls to local 211 helplines from people seeking food pantries in their community held steady at nearly 1,000 calls per day.
