Spelling Bee Week kicks off this Tuesday, and we want to wish good luck to Louisville’s own Porter Shreve as he competes in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.!🐝

Porter, an 8th grader at Shreve Academy, won the Louisville Free Public Library’s Fleur De Bee back in March. He loves reading, coding, video games, and spending time with family and friends. We’re cheering him on all the way!

Summer Reading 2026 starts in just 7 days! All area youth from newborns through high school seniors are invited to join the fun, read all summer, and dive paws-first into great books 🐾

This year’s animal themed prize is a red panda bag plus a prize sheet filled with rewards from local organizations and extra passes and treats. It is going to be un-bear-ably fun 🐻

Are you a student that is passionate about water, community, or photography? Now is your chance to take part in the 2026 Ripple Effects Photo Contest! 🌊💦
The Photo Contest is open to residents in the Kentuckiana area. Cash prizes for 1st ($100), 2nd ($75), 3rd ($50), and honorable mention ($25) will be awarded for the best photographs in the following age categories: kindergarten through 2nd grade; 3rd through 5th grade, middle school, and high school.

Entries are due on Monday, May 25.
