Today, on Juneteenth, we honor freedom, resilience, and the enduring contributions of Black communities who have shaped our country, our culture, and our food traditions.

Food carries more than nutrition. It carries history, identity, memory, and connection. From the farmers who grow it to the families and communities who gather around it, food has always been a powerful expression of culture and a way of caring for one another.

At Feed Louisville, we believe that access to good food is part of building healthier, more equitable communities. As we commemorate Juneteenth, we reflect on the importance of creating systems where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and where the traditions, knowledge, and contributions of Black communities are recognized and celebrated.

Compassion is solidarity in action. Today and every day, we remain committed to ensuring good food moves through our community instead of going to waste and reaches the people who need it most.

💜💙 Families United Joins the 2026 Kentucky Black Festival Juneteenth Unity Parade! 💙💜

Families United is proud to announce that we will be participating in the 2026 Kentucky Black Festival Juneteenth Unity Parade as “ Breewayy.”

This year, we will proudly wear Purple and Blue to symbolize Black Royalty, Strength, Resilience, and Legacy as we honor Breonna Taylor and all those whose lives continue to inspire our work for justice, unity, and community healing.

Our participation is more than a parade—it is a celebration of culture, freedom, family, and the power of community. We invite supporters, advocates, impacted families, youth, faith leaders, and community partners to walk alongside us as we continue building a future rooted in love, accountability, and hope.
