Meet Fritz, the newest four-legged member of the JCSO family! 🐾

Fritz belongs to Deputy Investigator, Brooke Benton. He is a standard poodle therapy dog who will be visiting the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office every Friday as part of our continued focus on employee wellness.

Whether it’s a quick visit, a few pets or simply a friendly face at the end of a long week, Fritz is here to provide a little extra comfort and support to our deputies and staff.

We’re excited to welcome Fritz and look forward to Fridays being a little more pawsitive around JCSO! 🐩

Our deputies spent part of the weekend at the Kentucky Truck Plant open house, helping keep things safe while employees, families and guests got a behind-the-scenes look at the plant.

It was a great day to see everyone come together to celebrate the autoworkers!

The JCSO had a great time at the Middletown Family Fun Fest over the weekend! 🎉

Our deputies joined the parade and spent the day connecting with families at our booth.

Twenty-five years ago this morning, we watched the towers fall.
Nearly 3,000 people went to work, boarded a plane, or reported for duty that day and never made it home. Among them were the firefighters, police officers, and first responders who climbed the stairs while everyone else was coming down.
I think about them every September 11th. I think about the families who have carried this for a quarter century. Time doesn't fill that hole. It teaches you to carry it.
To the men and women of Jefferson County who put on a uniform and answer the call, and to everyone who lost someone that morning: we remember, and we always will.
God bless the fallen, their families, and this country.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and honor the first responders who ran toward danger to help others.

We remember the courage, sacrifice and unity shown that day and in the days that followed.

We will never forget.

The JCSO Traffic Unit works throughout Jefferson County to identify dangerous driving behaviors and help keep our roadways safe.

Whether it’s speeding, distracted driving, running a stop sign or failing to buckle up, deputies are looking for violations that put everyone on the road at risk.
