Sweet Evening Breeze would like to celebrate a new service for our clients!

This is Kyla Arroyo, who works with Best Life Mental Health Services. She grew up in Louisville and has a background in higher education and student advocacy. She draws from trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally grounded approaches to support clients navigating trauma, identity, systemic stress, and life transitions.

She specializes in LGBTQ+ clients and children and families and works with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC clients who have learned to survive in spaces not built for them.

Looking back at this year, the things that stand out to us the most about our organization is the community that we have built together. We have incredible board members, dedicated volunteers, talented staff members, and phenomenal community support. Earlier this month, we had a dinner for some of our volunteers and board members to show them we appreciate them.

If over the course of the past year, you have volunteered with us, donated to us, or supported us in anyway, we want to take this moment to reflect and thank you. 2025 has been our biggest year yet and we are hoping to see even more growth in 2026, but we couldn't do any of this without our team and our community.

We have been working with the Free to be Youth Project in New York, which connects LGBTQ+ advocacy groups in the north to LGBTQ+ folx in the south. They have been making gift bags for us which include cosmetics, books, arts and crafts supplies and fidget toys for unhoused LGBTQ young adults.

Q***r Kentucky, which is a nonprofit LGBTQ news organization in Louisville, reported more about our partnership last week. Find out more here: https://queerkentucky.com/free-to-be-youth-project-kentucky-sweet-evening-breeze-lgbtq/

Thanks to Amy Leipziger from FTBY and Q***rKy for supporting us!
