September is Hunger Action Month, a time to take action for those struggling with hunger and help ensure that all our neighbors have access to the nourishing food they need to thrive.

Here at LCRC, we see how hunger affects our community every day - and what’s possible when neighbors like you come together to help. In partnership with Feed More, we’re proud to serve our neighbors here in Louisa County.

This Hunger Action Month, we’re celebrating the people who make this work possible and inviting our community to play a part. Join us - whether you donate food or funds, volunteer your time, or simply help spread the word, every action makes a difference.

We want to send a massive shoutout to Louisa County 4-H for their generous donation of fresh sausage!

Did you know? 4-H youth raised the hogs themselves for this incredible donation of approximately 500 lbs of sausage. Watching these young people learn responsibility, agriculture, and community service is inspiring. Thank you for your hard work and for choosing to support us!

A huge thank you to Nick Farris at Central VA Meat Processing! 🙌 Thanks to his support, the hard work of these young farmers is being turned into nutritious protein for local families in need.

Don’t miss out! Fresh, local, FREE food!

Sentara will be setting up their no-cost farm stand at LCRC on Aug. 13 and Sept. 24 from 9-11 am. Sentara’s farm stand is open to everyone!

How it works:
Everyone can get free food from the Sentara farm stand.

LCRC clients can get food from both LCRC and Sentara.

Need ongoing help?
Talk to LCRC staff to see if you qualify for enrollment in our programs.

Commissioners of Revenue throughout the Commonwealth participate in a can food drive every August. Donations to the Louisa County Commissioner of Revenue stay local and are taken to the Louisa County Resource Council. From now through August 31, the community may donate pantry products at the Louisa County Office Building (1 Woolfolk Ave, STE 203, Louisa) during normal business hours (M-F, 8:30am-5pm).

Donations can be dropped off M-W between 9 am-3 pm or Thursdays from 9 am- 6 pm.
